Stephanie DeCiantis

Stephanie DeCiantis is a ‘…top Canadian voice’ (Opera Canada) gaining attention for her “powerful” sound (Jake Evans, the Intelligencer) and “lush musical ebb and flow”(Opera Canada). Recent performances include at the Meermusik festival in Dusseldorf, Germany, Donna Elvira in Brott Opera’s virtual production of Don Giovanni, the Overseer in Powerhouse Opera’s Elektra, and the Soprano Soloist in Shostakovich’s Symphony No. 14 with the Kindred Spirits Orchestra. Ms. DeCiantis was recently a semi-finalist for the Vincerò World Singing Competition, and was previously a winner and laureate of the Jeunes Ambassadeurs Lyriques with Thèâtre Lyrichorégra 20 and a semi-finalist for both the Elizabeth Connell prize for Dramatic Sopranos and the Francisco Araiza Sonora International Opera Competition. Performance highlights include Nedda from Leoncavallo’s Pagliacci (Southern Ontario Lyric Opera), Senta from Wagner’s Der Fliegende Höllander (Opera by Request), Leonora from Verdi’s Il trovatore (Opera Sustenida), and Rosalinde in Strauss, Jr.’s Die Fledermaus (Opera Sustenida). Ms. DeCiantis also served as Stage Director for Opera Sustenida’s 2022 production of Il trovatore, a role she will repeat for their upcoming Die Fledermaus. She is the creative force behind Opera Sustenida’s innovative performance videos, serving as video editor for their online concerts and upcoming “Il trovatore: The Movie.”of text. Nicole Dubinsky

Nicole Whitney Dubinsky has been praised for her “warm, engaging soprano voice and excellent, nuanced dramatic presentation” (Weill Music Institute). In 2024, Ms. Dubinsky is looking forward to a return to the stage as a featured artist in the York Symphony Orchestra’s ‘A Night at the Opera’. This past year, Ms. Dubinsky performed as a highlighted soloist with the Burlington Symphony Orchestra, the York Symphony Orchestra, and as Bertha in ‘Il Barbiere di Siviglia’ with the Mississauga Symphony Orchestra. She was also showcased in Beth Tzedec’s ‘Cinema Spectacular: Sounds from the Golden Age of Cinema’ and sang in their High Holy Days ceremonies. Notable engagements include concert work with the ‘MeerMuzik’ festival in Düsseldorf, premiering and recording the role of Mirella ‘The Lion Heart’ (an original opera written by Corey Arnold and Kyle MacDonald), and singing Lucy in Toronto City Opera’s video broadcast of Menotti’s ‘The Telephone’. Ms. Dubinsky has appeared in concert with the Paskke String Quartet and has performed the tour-de-force triple role of Olympia/Giulietta/Antonia in Toronto City Opera’s production of ‘Les Contes d’Hoffman’. Ms. Dubinsky has sung the formidable Queen of the Night with Opera York, Premiere Productions Ottawa, the Accademia Europea dell’Opera in Amsterdam, and in Opera Laurier’s 100th Anniversary Production. Opera Canada reveals “Nicole Dubinsky nailed the Queen of the Night’s treacherous coloratura with aplomb.” She serves as Opera Sustenida’s Social Media Liaison and Producer. Ms. Dubinsky is looking forward to performing the role of Adele in Opera Sustenida’s upcoming ‘Die Fledermaus’.

Suzanne Yeo

SUZANNE YEO is a Toronto-based conductor, pianist and vocal coach known for the intensity and sensitivity of her interpretations. Having graduated from the University of Toronto with an M.Mus. in piano performance (after a stint as a doctoral candidate in the German department at Princeton University), she gravitated towards collaborative piano and conducting, in large part due to a long-standing affinity for opera and Lieder. She is a co-founder and music director of Opera Sustenida (one of whose productions was recently selected as a finalist in the 2023 OPERA America Excellence in Digital Opera Awards), where she serves variously as pianist or conductor, depending on the needs of the production, and has been the assistant conductor at Toronto City Opera since 2021, conducting a performance each of Nabucco, Cavalleria rusticana, Don Giovanni and Die Fledermaus in the last 2 seasons. She is also one of the conductors of the recently-formed Rosedale Symphony Orchestra and will be leading their Mozart and Mahler concert in March 2024.
